We have had this pellet stove for 6 years. It is a piece of junk. It has never run right. I'm in agreement with all the other comments. Recently we were without power for 10 days and couldn't even use it for heat. That was the whole purpose of this stove, to cut back on oil and to have a back up that we could hook up to the generator. Our house was 40 degrees for those 10 days and the stove was of no use except for maybe target practice! It should be recalled and they should give replacement stoves for this botched attempt of a design!

I was also very dissapointed in the way the stove burned pellets so lazily. I have fixed this problem. I noticed the pellets would collect in the right side of the UltraGrate causing a crowding problem which leaves them unburned which smothers the flame and causes poor combustion. With the simple, no cost fix this pellet stove went from a cleaning nightmare to the perfect burn(barely any ash, the glass stays clean and the pellets burn beautifully. Now the fix. All I did was bend a piece of steel at an angle so it would slip behind the fire brick at the right hand side of the pellet chute exit and extend to the end of the chute. It is also angled in just a little bit. What this does is direct the pellets into the center of the UltraGrate allowing the stove to burn properly. Like I said, a new stove. What you do is up to you.

I have had my traditions stove for about ten years. I have had it in peices on the floor many times! Very often the pellets won't completely light and go out, but the ignighter continues to burn but no pellets are feeding. This burns out the igniter and it's $120.00 and a pain in the butt to replace. I also have soot and smoke...it is unreliable and frustrating....DO NOT RECOMEND

Control Board Lights Flickering just started end of season any sugestions of fix . I have had this stove now on our 12th winter. We have no problems with the way it burns pellets. I did acouple of my own modifications . But The key is to clean good every time especially the grate . this takes me about 1 hour . Then I can run for 7 days none stop on any setting . I have Been told it is the brand, I usually use what ever is hard wood all four brands of pellets I have used, must be work fine. I have never had it serviced. This is a issue that just showed its up after almost 12 seasons and I burn about a ton and 1/2 a season. It heats my whole house. If anyone had this issue in the past, Please e-mail solution to me tlipka@wm.com

have had this stove now on our 4th winter. We have nothing but problems with the way it burns pellets. Been told it is the brand, ok so all four brands of pellets i have used must be bad. I have had it serviced this summer to make sure it was ok b4 winter began. worked for a few, but like others must clean every two days and not just a small clean a complete blow out of everything, in order for it to burn. But even then it only burns on low heat with the fan on high and still pellets build up and choke out and the stove fAULTS. Again today had service, says everything looks good, took apart and cleaned everything, two hundred dollars later, the second time this season. i have come to realize the stove is only beautiful on the outside and will never burn properly, the colder it gets the worse it performs. have tried everthing to make it burn right and nothing works. the garbage is next....... pretty but not worth the money. also someone else commented the ash, that stove is not sealed well, i will also agree my home is covered with a thick coat of dust, which is the ash, my curtains near the stove turn a shade of brown black and a thick coating on them, must clean once a week from it.

I have to say, after getting the 300P and having it serviced three times in the fist year, I was certain that I had made the wrong decision. But now, after using is a while, I must confirm my thinking after the first year. I am still tyring to figure out if this unit can be reliable, or if it needs service twice a year to maintain. We have moved it out of the home and into the enclosed gazebo to get rid of the smell in the home. It will not run for more than 30 minutes without a default code that shuts it down and you have to reset it again, and again and again (it timed out twice in the time it took me to write this and I had to hit the reset button to get it to come back on - I am not joking). My wife bought $8,000 worth of leather furniture for the gazebo and now she will not go it it, because it all smells like smoke. The things leaks smoke every time it starts, until the chimney starts to draw hard. I am now having a factory person come by and see if they can tell us why this darn thing does not work, even after their reps serviced it two different times in two weeks. To spend $30,000 on a gazebo, then $8,000 on funiture only to have it all smell like smoke (heavy smoke smell) is absolutly inexcusable and says a lot about Lennon and the way they care about their customers. I have to agree, this unit is 100% pure junk. It can make your life miserable. NPHall

I have one complement about this stove - it looks pretty - just like the picture above, my is green just like that one, other than that all I can say is its a piece of crap - crap - crap. I would never buy anything from lennox again, customer service is horrible, there authorized dealers don't know anything and once they got your money and you got there stove its a tough luck type of deal

I have had this stove for 3 seasons without a problem. I wish the glass stayed cleaner, but the stove has worked fine. Might need a blower motor at this time, not bad for 3 seasons.

I'm trying t buy a blower fan for mine, and can't find one on the internet!!Every site leads me on a merry chase. Agree with the fact you can't get into the working parts to blow the dirt and dust off, which then leads to other problems. We did finally just suck it up and do it yesterday for the cost of $85 dollars. And yes I have to clean mine out about every 24 hours of use. That doesn't bother me too much, just the not being able toclean out the important area to prevent costly repairs.

  13. Anonymous Says:

I agree with the others. You have to clean this stove way too much. Every couple of days to keep it running right. It also would not run correct with my generator when the power went out. I would not buy buy one of these stoves ever again. I'm going to sell mine and buy a new one next winter.

  14. Anonymous Says:

I must agree! Ours is a complete piece of crap!!! Consistantly "cagging" up and has to be cleaned out too often. Paid to have it blown out. No clean out outlets on this stove which leads to most of the problems. Replaced the exhaust fan twice. Tried different brands of pellets to no avail. Lennox customer service department is inept and generally useless like their stoves. Buyer beware. Like the last guy, you can buy mine.

dont buy this stove! we've had it for 5 years and nothing but problems. the glass soots up with in the first few hours of operation and the pellets over flow the grate and we have to shut the stove down every few days for a complete clean out. I've dealt with the deal may times, completely tore apart and cleaned the stove 3 times every winter and tried every type of pellet, every ajustment, added a vent to outside so it could have fresh air. I've tried it all. It's a peice of junk. If your considering buying one, you can buy mine!

I had to repaint my entire interior of my house because of the black soot given off by this pos plus the outside ruined my siding.Never mind the health problems my family was subjected to.
I found out part of the problem was due to the poor sealing of the unit. The rope material that encases the glass door was poorly installed, defective imo.I replaced the glass seal and it ran and burned 100% better.Lasted about 1 month until that seal became undone.stay AWAY

I have had my stove for 10 years and have not had one issue with it yet. I don't know what every one else is doing wrong but it must be something !! Once you have the draft set correctly it runs fine on any heat setting . no leaking of smoke I only clean it once a week never had it serviced I just check the vent pipe in the fall clean the stove and order my fuel.

What do you have your draft set on? Do you also have a fresh air vent for outside?
