I have owned my stove for about 6 years. I have experienced many of the issues highlighted in the various comments. Just before Jay Tehlin retired and sold the company I had spoken directly to him about my stove. He sold me a new version of the burner pot with new ignite and updated a chip on the circuit board to adjust the start sequence timing and perhaps some other adjustments?

It was a new stove after these changes, although the stove is still sensitive to the type of Pellets used.

It is a beautiful stove but I would not purchase another not to mention the dealer I purchased the stove from no longer displays them in their showroom. They do provide support but as noted parts are more expense as they are marked up. I am trying to cross reference the fan and auger motors to source those directly should they be needed in the future.

Important to check that the air damper under the front door is open allowing good air flow and that the stove is cleaned @ every 3 days as it does fill with ash by that time and reduces the efficiency of the stove.

I also clean the pipes that attache to the main chimney stack every other cleaning. This also helps to have good air flow and keep the stove at optimal efficiency.

I have used my 2001 model 24/7 on low for the past 9 years. From November to March. Earlier and later than those dates it usually burns 12 hours just at night. Year 6 I replaced both motors and the auger bearing(plastic). Never had any problem with it but it helps to be mechanically inclined. You do have to fine tune it for different burn speeds and brand of pellets. You can't just go from low to medium or switch pellet brands without adjusting trim or air. Well you can I guess, but then you will be here complaining. I like it so much I bought another for my Daughter for her house. Yes the glass soots up but you just take a paintbrush once a day while it's burning open the door and wipe the ash off into a container(6 sec). It has kept my house warm for the past 9 years without using oil and very little electricity($5.00 a month)

I emailed Thelin for some extra parts two weeks ago and have not heard from them. When Jay Thelin owned the company he always replied back in a day. I'm getting a bad feeling that maybe the new owners can't handle it. They don't even have a phone number. It looks like when the current motors wear out in 5 or 6 years I might have to buy a different pellet stove.

Everything is good again. I WILL NOT BE PURCHASING A REPLACEMENT PELLET STOVE. After emailing Thelin twice with no response from them. I asked two dealers in the state for replacement motors and they contacted Thelin and I finally got my motors. So now I am back to being a completly satisfied owner of a Parlour 3000. What I save in electricity in one year, pay's for replacement motors, and then the next 4-5 years is just savings.

Price too high for such unreliability. Have used it two winters.
Window blackens within 8 hours of use even using the best pellets available.
After first month the circuit board needed replacing which was covered by warranty. Would start electronically after 3 - 4 attempts even after board was replaced.
Requires cleaning much more often than advertised.
When starting for first time in the 3rd year would not start, did trip a circuit breaker. Replacement part $80.00 even though the starter was used less than 30 times. Labor $150.00 for 45 minutes of work.
Very unsatisfied. Would replace it with another brand if I could find a pigeon to buy this one.

It's a good looking stove when it is working. It's hell getting the parts when it breaks down. Thelin won't sell you the parts direct anymore and the dealers add 100 percent profit to the parts you are purchasing. Good support team when you are having problems. Next time my stove breaks down I am going to pull it and buy a new pellet stove.

I've had my Parlour 3000 for three seasons. Might as well paint the glass black ,after 8 Hrs. it's smoked so bad it's useless. Have tried three manufactures of pellets , have had the stove checked by the store I bought it from and they just blame the fuel. I run it on low to med. ,open damper ,low feed rate . I clean it at least every other day. It decides once in a while to not start for three or four tries even after complete cleaning of pipe and all stove parts. Igniter lights but then stove goes out and smokes the house. Impossible to clean completely around the heat exchanger tubes . Love to replace this stove with just a steel box one , looks don't help if it won't run!!!!

I had the same starting problem. I found the cause on my stove when I replaced the combustion/air circ motor. The heat sensing thermocouple on my exhaust broke off and was hanging next to the exhaust pipe so it took awhile to heat up(2 or 3 starts). I was to lazy to replace it so I glued it back on with high temp rtv and it's been working fine for the last two years.

I have the exact same problems , plus now it has decided too just fill the pot with smoldering pellets and choke itself out. High fan , open damper , feed on low. Store blames pellets so I went back to pellets they sold me and I get the same results. I would not buy another one or advise anyone else to until someone figures out what is wrong with the stove !!!!

I've had my Parlour 3000 for 4-yrs. Actually, I've had two in 4-yrs. The first was deemed unfixable, and was replaced under warranty (no charge...great service). The second one has gone thru an auger, cpu card, t-stat, and ignitor. The last three parts were changed for many of the reasons stated in this forum (started but would not stay lit, wouldn't start, started and ran for hours but then quit). The parts I installed were upgraded from the original; T-stat was more sensitive and the CPU provided a longer start time allowing the T-stat to heat up and sense that the stove was lit. The stove ran well for the remainder of the season. The next seson, I ended up with some poor pellets...it was down hill from there. Toward the end of the season is when the pot would fill up and smolder. At the begining of this season, as in the other three seasons, I completly removed all the exhaust pipe to clean it out. I found the culprit; clogged pipe (more then 3/4 of the diameter was clogged). The stove ran great after that. That is until the bearings in the fan started to go the other day. It sure is a pretty stove:)

I found my motors to average 5 years. Pellet feed motor starts getting weak first, then combustion/air circ motor bearings in the next year or two. This stove runs 24/7 for 5 months and keeps me warm. So to properly maintain it you have to replace motors. I feel it's a small effort to keep the house warmed to 70F. I like it a lot and wish only mechanically inclined people with wood stove experience would buy them.
