Hi,
Recently, a real estate agent said that pellet stoves produces sparks that can cause small burns in the carpet. Has anyone had problems with this?

That real estate agent did not know what he/she was talking about. Pellet stoves are self contained. This means that the entire burning process occurs in a burn box that keeps the combustion of pellets fully enclosed. This is a part of the beauty and efficiency of a pellet stove. It is also the reason the hearth requirements are significantly less than a wood fireplace or similar wood burning appliance.

I just bought a new one all the paperwork such as the owner manual is inside the glass window. There is no door handle from what I could see through the glass to an open page inside was that the door opened from right to left. I just can't figure out how to open it yet. Any help out there?

Same thing happened to me! I bought the Lopi Yankee wood pellet insert and I had to take off a screw on the right side top of the stove. That made it possible to move the 2 inch wide door/vent and exposed the fastner clips to open the actual door to get the manual.
